The European Youth Olympic Festival is the largest multi-sport event for young athletes. Athletes come from 48 countries of the European continent, drawing in some 3,600 participants. Artistic gymnastics is one of the sports that is being performed under this young olympic flag.  The Dutch team consisting of Aaron Enser, Cas Keser and Leon Atherton performed very well and achieved an outstanding 8th place overall.

The gold medal in the Men's competition went to the team of Great Britain, where the individual all-round competition was won by Tommaso Brugnami from Italy. An impression of the performances of some of the remaining teams can be found here:

No great achievements can happen without preparations. During podium training the athletes can get used to the competition hall and the apparatuses. Other training sessions took place in the adjacent ice hockey hall.

After the introduction at last year's EYOF, there was also this year a Mixed Team Pairs final. The best allround girl and boy from each country make a mixed team together, competing for the Mixed Team title, which was won by Italy.
For the Netherlands Alij de Wijze and Leon Atherton made up "TeamNL".
